Advisors Political Involvement Committee (APIC)

You may have never run for public office. You might not know much about politics. But with NAIFA's Advisors Political Involvement Committee (APIC), you can still make a difference and influence how Congress votes on legislation important to insurance and financial services professionals. You can get involved in a number of ways.

Respond to NAIFA Action Alerts on legislation affecting your business.
Sign up as a legislative contact for NAIFA (if you personally know a member of Congress).
Serve as a Federal Senate or District Coordinator and hold regular meetings in the district with your legislator.

The level of involvement is up to you.

Governor Schwarzenegger Announces Veto of Government-Run Health Care System
Congratulations to everyone who has worked tirelessly on this issue. Your involvement has proven to be invaluable! Because of this veto the consumers you serve will continue to have choices in their health care.

This chapter of government run health care is closed but only temporarily. The debate will continue and you can be confident that NAIFA-California and your Government Relations Committee will again be at the forefront of all heath insurance discussions. Michael McCaffrey (Communications VP) is currently working on forming a coalition with some of our sister organizations to begin a public campaign that will frame our issues and the issues of health insurance consumers in a positive light.
