Your Advocacy team has been restructured and is an exciting part of your NAIFA membership. August is the month that Congress is in recess, and it is imperative to set up appointments with your Congressional Representatives to discuss the issue of Fiduciary Standards.  There is some excellent information on http://www.naifa.org

Please read up on this issue prior to your visits. The fiduciary standards will change your business and how you interact with clients. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.

Please send reports of your visits to NAIFA California at info@naifacalifornia.org  Or you can send them to me at RicNil@sbcglobal.net. My mailing address is Richard Nilmeier; 1530 E. Shaw, #110; Fresno, CA 93710.

The time is short and the job is big. Let’s all jump in the boat and start rowing together. Thank you for your efforts, and I look forward to working with each of you this coming year.

Take Action Now on the Unworkable DOL Fiduciary Rule!

Act now! Action Is Urgently Needed: The Department of Labor (DOL) needs to hear from you TODAY about your clients' right to continue to work with you. The DOL recently proposed a controversial regulation that would dramatically expand who is considered a fiduciary when advising retirement savers.  The rule is complicated, confusing and will be costly to implement.  Most importantly, the rule, if enacted as written, will dramatically reduce access to education and professional advice, and will both increase costs to retirement savers and limit the choices in how they choose to pay for much needed retirement planning services.
